Well, seems like a ton has happened since we last posted...of course, a lot
can happen in 3 weeks!
The last couple of weeks have seen a lot of "firsts" in our little family.
1st. Aislyn slept in her own room all by herself, mostly all night! She had been sleeping in her bassinet through the night, but we made the tranisition to the nursery. She is mostly sleeping a solid 7-8 hours. She's starting to teeth, so that is making sleeping not so much fun!
2nd. Aislyn went on her first hike! Several of Jocelyn's co-workers at SEL of kids and so we enjoy getting together for fun and kid-time. We went hiking at Kamiak Butte. Aislyn rode in the front-pack with Geoff, and enjoyed the scenery so much, and the constant jostling, that she fell asleep for 1/2 the hike!
3rd. Aislyn had her first taste of solid food - Applesauce - on the way to Lake Chelan so we didn't have to stop. She mostly enjoyed it, until she got a little bit of the skin and that brought on the pucker face! She enjoys anything we've put in front of her - peas, squash, beans, cereal, fingers, you name it, she's eating it! Hopefully it continues!
4th. Aislyn enjoyed her first camping trip to Lake Chelan! We went with Geoff's Parents and his sister Laurie's family. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the relaxing of sleeping on the boat. We don't think you're ever too old to be rocked to sleep!
5th. The same weekend, Aislyn enjoyed her first (this is really hard to believe) trip to Grampa & Grammy Pearson's house. We enjoyed meeting with all the Omak folk and lunch with Geoff & Dee Thornton's family.
6th. This past weekend, Aislyn enjoyed her first trip to the Freeman Crk Campground at Dworshack Reservoir in Orofino, ID. We went with several friends and enjoyed having Dave & Cinda Taylor from Denver share in our trip as well. Bart & Diana Wilkinson from Kooskia, ID came with their boat on Saturday, and all of us enjoyed the warm water and sun!
7th. We enjoyed our first trip to out to Kooskia to stay with Bart & Diana in their lovely little farmstead. It really made us appreciate their willingness to travel 70 miles one-way to Sunday meeting every week. A beautiful drive, but a long one. Thankfully, Aislyn slept the entire trip, only to want to talk & wiggle all meeting!
We're sure we're missing more firsts and that they'll come to us after we post this, but we've enjoyed a busy late July/Early August of family time. Geoff is surely not looking forward to ending his days with Aislyn as school starts in a week and a half, but that's life, right?
Here are some recent pictures of our family adventures (a lot of Aislyn!). Hope all is well with y'all and come visit us!
